Pausing in the chill of the morning with a hot cup of tea in autumn pours out an opportunity to  praise God of all He does for us to see. What does His color change mean to you? May the beauty of this time of year bring you warm memories.

Brew a Cup of Serenity

Real men pause in the Word of God. 

To pause over the Word of God with a teacup isn’t for women only.

Often my husband has asked for a cup of tea when a day has been extremely tiring. When he would come home after a long day at work, he wasn’t ready for dinner or a chat. He needed serenity to bring him back to sanity. 

We had our own message about the kind of tea he wanted. He called it the “feel good” tea, because he didn’t like the real name of the tea. 

The real name of the tea was Women’s Liberty tea by Traditional Medicinals. If it’s early in the day, I’ll put an Earl Gray and a Women’s Liberty teabags in a teapot to brew a stout cup of flavor and serenity. 

Next time your man comes home after a hard day battling his responsibilities, pour him a cup of feel good tea and hand him the Word of peace to put him back in the saddle again.

Fellowship Tea

Teas are full of sweet treats, yet the fellowship is the sweets part of any tea time events. 

The Christian Communicators tea at the Cove in Asheville, North Carolina was a delightful time with a banquet of yummies, tablescapes of smiles, harmonious conversations, and brewing friendships. Charm filled the room as the ladies graciously shook hands and gave praise to the Cove staff for the experience of an afternoon tea. 

These ladies came across the nation with the same desire to become ambassadors for Jesus Christ. Throughout the five day conference they steeped in programs that helped them to write their purpose statement for their speaking ministry, manage the business side as a professional speaker, and so much more. The tea was a reprieve before preparing for their filmed videos the following day.  

However, fellowship brewed throughout the conference beginning with a social mix and mingle to tear filled goodbyes at the last luncheon. A community of loyalty had been built in those short days with means of ongoing connections of support, encouragement, and inspiration. Now they are discovering the overflow of a sisterhood of camaraderie that extends to the past Christian Communicators grads reaching out to these new CC grads. 

It’s a fulfilling experience to see women championing one another with endorsements,direction, and promoting one another through writing and speaking opportunities. So much is accomplished when we women practice hospitality. 

Sweet fellowship at a tea brings out the best in all of us. Christian Communicators serve the

best as they brag on the great things God has done and the grace of Jesus Christ.

Words of Wonder

Steeping in scripture is like a tea bag steeping in hot water. 

Change comes. 

God's truth permeates a weary soul with a renewed strength to face another day. 

Reward yourself with a pause in Christ's uplifting presence 

by using a cup of tea as an excuse to take time to read and ponder His word today.

Pausing Over a TeaCup

In today's world of smart phones, personal tablets for quick information and entertainment as well as laptops as small as book for staying connected; there's still a big loss of tranquility.

I've finally have all three of these wireless devices. They may be smart; however, the operator is not so smart.

Learning to think like the programers of these mind and behavioral controlling instruments has often sent me to pause over a teacup and sip sweet tea as I read Psalms for peace and tranquility. Serenity is restored when I unplug with the devises, pause in scripture and ponder the sweetness of staying plugged into the Savior. His promises refreshes.

The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace. 

Psalm 29:11 (NIV)

Let's be smarter in today's world by unplugging more often to steep in scripture and sip sweet tea.
