Steeping In Fellowship

Rain pounded the windshield. The windshield wipers slapped the stinging rain drops off its face with horrendous speed.

With eyes that were wide awake at 5:10 a.m., I inch my way down the dark and empty road that reflects crashing liquid from unseen clouds. There was beauty in the danger before me with the rain dancing on the road.  However, I make it early to the restaurant that opens at 5:30 a.m. so our Bible study could begin at 6:00 a.m.

The rain in gulfed my car with faster speed when I turned off the engine. I had a few minutes to pray before getting out of my dry cocoon. With unexpected inspiration the words below flowed from my pen. I was not sad when I wrote them but what poured from my heart is how I feel about sharing moments with a friend over a teacup. Therefore, my friend I want to share them with you now.

Come sit with me
over a cup of tea.

My heart is heavy.
Tears seep from
my soul.

A listening ear
that is near
helps me to embrace
the challenges that I face.

 The tea is sweetened
by fellowship
and the comfort of your smile.

 I’ll make it to tomorrow
because you sat with me
for a while.

Grace and peace by yours in abundance
through the knowledge of
God and Jesus our Lord.
2 Peter 1:2

Uplifting Blessings,
Carolyn
